Carney Rhinevault Town of Hyde Park Historian

NYS Land Surveyor since 1975

Carney Rhinevault has written six books about Hyde Park, the Roosevelts and the Hudson Valley
  • Colonel Archibald Rogers and the Crumwold Estate
  • The Home Front at Roosevelt's Hometown
  • Hidden History of the Mid-Hudson Valley
  • Hidden History of the Lower Hudson Valley
  • History of Hyde Park (updated to 2014)
  • The Gilded Age at Hyde Park (co-authored with Shannon Butler)
While writing these books, Carney Rhinevault interviewed several interesting individuals such as David Eisenhower, Curtis Roosevelt, David Roosevelt, Pete Seeger, Ralph Osterhoudt, and more than the other World War II veterans.

He initiated and was responsible for bringing the officers and sailors from the USS Roosevelt, DDG 80 to the 2010 Memorial Day Parade and would like to see at least one of Hyde Park's parades honor Vietnam veterans.

Carney Rhinevault was Town of Hyde Park Historian from 2008 to 2013 and became temporary President of the Town of Hyde Park Historical Society.
