Spring/Summer Brochure
The Spring/Summer brochure (PDF) will be mailed to all Hyde Park residents in the spring. The Brochure lists all the summer camps, swim lessons, membership information, swimming pool hours, etc. There will also be registration forms available for your use.
Hackett Hill Park
The Town Park is located on East Market Street between Rte. 9 & 9G. The facilities include: swimming pool, pavilion, Hiking trails, camp sites for groups, sports fields, program building, Hackett House. This is where the day camp is located.

- Pre-season Hours:
- Weekdays, June 2 & 3, 9 & 10 and 23 & 24 : Noon - 6 PM
- Full Season Hours:
- Weekdays June 25 - August 10 : 4 PM - 7 PM
- Weekends June 23 - August 26 : Noon - 6 PM
- Pre-season Hours:
- Recreation Director must approve use of Pavilion.
- Recreation Director must approve overnight camping for Groups.

The commission meets the second Tuesday of the month at 5:00 p.m. at the Hackett House. Members help plan recreation programs and volunteer to assist at some of our special events year round.
Volunteers
Many of our special events and some of our programs are run by volunteers from our community. If you are a parent, grandparent or someone who enjoys working with people and participating in community events that enhace our quality of life here in Hyde Park, please call the Recreation Office for more information. We have a job for everyone!
Summer Jobs
Hyde Park Recreation is hiring camp/health directors, camp counselors, lifeguards and WSI (swim instructors) for the upcoming summer. Please call for an application or you can download a PDF Summer Job Application (PDF).
We are also looking for 14 and 15 year old "Counselors-in-Training". The "Counselor-in-Training" program gives youths aged 14&15 the chance to gain leadership, work experience, and volunteerism. Interns must complete application (available online (PDF) or at Hackett House) and attend an interview. Funded by Office of Children and Family Services and DC Youth Bureau. FREE. Runs M-F : 9AM-4PM : 3-5 week program.
