Officer Caccia and the polygraph equipment

The Town of Hyde Park Police Department employs two highly skilled and certified polygraph examiners. Both Chief James McKenna and Officer Paul Caccia are trained in the art of polygraph examination. Being the only city or township in Dutchess County to currently offer such expertise, the department is frequently called upon by outside agencies for assistance in utilizing this resource. Any agency considering the need to use such an examination for investigative or pre-employment screening purposes are encouraged to contact Officer Paul Caccia at 845-229-5062 (Monday - Friday 7AM-3PM).

Accident Reconstruction

The Town of Hyde Park Police Department has two specially trained and certified Advanced Crash Investigator / Reconstruction Officers. Officers Alan Roberts and Sean Coffey's skills are utilized during the investigation of motor vehicle accidents involving serious physical injury, death and/or alcohol involvement. It is the hope of the Hyde Park Police Department that by obeying all NYS Motor Vehicle and Traffic Laws including the use of seatbelts, you will never be involved in this aspect of our work. **PARENTS OF NEW DRIVERS**: Please take the time to emphasize to your children that the potential hazards involved in speeding, disobeying traffic devices and unsafe passing of other vehicles are simply not worth the the time they think they save. One of the most difficult jobs a police officer can perform is to knock on a parent's door to inform them of the death of a child. Please, let's make this something that no parent or police officer in Hyde Park has to be involved in ever again.

The commercial site edmunds.com has helpful information about what to do if you are involved in a car accident. Remember! Safety is your number one consideration.
