The Town of Hyde Park Police Department does not hire full-time police officers directly. Instead, officers are hired from an eligibility list of police officer candidates successfully completing a New York State Civil Service test conducted by the Dutchess County Personnel Department. In addition, all applicants to the Town of Hyde Park Police Department are required to complete an investigation form. The forms for Police Officer Candidates and Police Officer Assistant Candidates (such as Dispatchers) are available for download from the links below or by contacting the Police Department.
All information given in these application will be held in strict confidence. A Candidate may be rejected for employment "who has intentionally made a false statement of a material fact, or practices, or attempted to practice, any deception or fraud in his or her application, or securing eligibility for appointment".
