The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services provides child safety information, including babysitter safety and college safety. It also has missing child pictures and information.

Juvenile Bureau

The Town of Hyde Park Police Department Juvenile Bureau is committed to working with the Town's juvenile population, their parents and the community to help solve and prevent juvenile crime. Three specially trained officers are devoted to achieving this goal. The department has a separate facility dedicated to juvenile programs as required by New York State mandate.

Officer Brad Moore is currently assigned as a full time DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) officer working with students in the Haviland Middle School and all of the Hyde Park School District elementary schools including Regina Coeli and St Peters. When not acting as DARE officer, Officer Moore is assigned to routine patrol.

Officer Paul Caccia , also a certified DARE instructor and juvenile officer, is currently designated as the School Resource Officer (SRO) at the Franklin Roosevelt High School. Officer Caccia works with students, teachers and parents to prevent and resolve crime, conflict and other problems occurring at the school. Officer Caccia acts as the SRO throughout the year whenever school is in session. When school is not in session , Officer Caccia performs regular patrol duties and administers polygraph examinations for the Hyde Park Police and other departments.

Officer Joyce Banks, assigned to the 3-11PM patrol shift, is also a certified juvenile officer and acts in this capacity as juvenile situations arise. Officer Banks also handles juvenile related sex crimes and is a certified Crime Victims Advocate providing assistance and resources to victims of crime.
