Function: The Receiver of Taxes collects all taxes levied by the County and Town, including special district taxes such as fire, light, library, and special assessments for water districts. The Receiver also collects for water and sewer rents for Town water districts.

County and Town Taxes: County and Town taxes are payable once a year, during the month of February. Taxes are due without penalty February 28th. This bill can also be paid in full or in three installments from February 1st through August 31st, but any payment made after February 28th will have penalty applied. A penalty of 2% is added from March 1st to May 31st and 4% penalty is added from June 1st to August 31st. The Tax Rolls are returned to the Dutchess County Commissioner of Finance on September 1st.
School Taxes: School taxes for the Hyde Park Central School District, for parcels within the boundries of Hyde Park, are also collected by this office. The other collectors for Hyde Park School are listed below.

Hyde Park Central School taxes are issued early September and are usually due early October, without penalty. The specific date changes from year to year. Please refer to your bill for more information. After the due date, 2% penalty is added through early November. At the close of the school tax collection, unpaid taxes are returned to the Dutchess County Commissioner of Finance, and are re-levied onto the next year's State, County and Town tax bill.

Water Districts: There are currently four water districts administered by the Town of Hyde Park: Greenfields Water and Sewer; Quaker Hills Water; Violet Avenue Water; and Arbors Water.

Water and Sewer rents are billed every three months. They are payable without penalty during the first month after billing. Please refer to your bill for specific due date. Thereafter, a 10% penalty is charged. Any unpaid water rents after November 15th, will be re-levied on the following year's State, County and Town tax bill.
